Death Proof

I've been a little nervous to take on a Quentin Tarantino movie. Tonight's the night, though. I decided to expose Death Proof because I consider it a middle of the road Tarantino movie. By middle of the road, I mean amongst Tarantino movies.

Of course, Death Proof, was written and directed by Quentin Tarantino. Tarantino also has a small role in Death Proof just like in most of his other movies. The cast consists of Kurt Russell, Rosario Dawson, Zoe Bell, Vanessa Ferlito, Sydney Poitier, Tracie Thoms, Rose McGowan, Jordan Ladd, Mary Winstead, and of course Quentin Tarantino.

The movie isn't very sophisticated. A man (Kurt Russell) follows around groups of girls and tries to kill them. They don't give a motive or anything. He just follows different groups of girls around and tries to kill them. The movie is broken down into two different group of girls. One he successfully kills and the other not. All of the action consists of car chases. And, it wouldn't be a Tarantino flick with out the static scenes full of crazy dialogue.

If you haven't seen this movie go check it out. It is classic Tarantino. It is gory as hell (the way some of the people die in the movie is UNREAL!!!!!). It has amazing cars. ETC., ETC., ETC. I really enjoyed all of the references in the movie to Kill Bill Vol. 1 and Kill Bill Vol. 2. A girl in the movie gets a call on her cell phone and the ring tone is the Kill Bill music. One of the cars that a group of girls had had a bumper sticker on it that said "Lil Pussywagon". Amongst other references. Anyway, go check it out. If you really enjoy gory deaths this movie is for you.

Other information:
Quentin Tarantino's newest movie is Inglorious Basterds. The movie is set to be released in August of this year. It is going to star Brad Pitt, Samuel L. Jackson, Diane Kruger, Mike Myers, and Cloris Leachmen. It is odd that Mike Myers (Austin Powers) is going to be in a Tarantino film but I am excited to see it none-the-less.
Zoe Bell is a real life stuntman and is featured as herself in the movie. Very clever. She did stunts for Kill Bill Vol. 1 and Kill Bill Vol. 2. She has enjoyed some success as an actress since the release of Death Proof.
Rose McGowan and Rosario Dawson have signed on to do Sin City 2. All I can say about that is, interesting.
